Often in a few minutes, a tornadoes takes lives, destroys properties, interrupts businesses, and leaves with a long-lasting impact and recovery period. With the rapid growth of emerging technology on one side and the need in the battle against tornadoes on the other side, we have envisioned the Technology against Tornado (TaT) Student Competition and Expo to inspire and engage students by transforming their innovative ideas into real-world functional products to empower communities against tornadoes.

Sponsored by the IEEE Computer Society and hosted by the University of Tennessee at Martin, TaT 2023 is a one-day summit of competition, expo, and activities full of creativity and innovation to use technology against tornadoes.
